Mrs. Kate Garl of Mason City Dies Sat.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kate Garl, 77, of Mason City were held Wednesday at the Major Erickson Funeral home there. Interment was at Rock Falls, Iowa.

Mrs. Garl died suddenly Saturday evening at her home of a heart attack.

She was born at Allison, in Butler County to Mr. and Mrs. George Eygabroad. She was married to Will Garl and the couple resided in Wellsburg and later moved to Rock Falls and then to Mason City.

Mrs. Garl was preceded in death by her husband, also two sons, Roy and Chester, one daughter, Pearl (Mrs. Earl Schulte) and four brothers and five sisters.

Those who survive are a number of grandchildren, one brother, Joe Eygabroad, and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Lutz.

Mrs. Wm. Garl Dies At Mason City

Mrs. William (Katie) Garl, 78, died Saturday evening, Oct. 27 at a Mason City hospital. She had lived in Mason City 17 years and made her home at 614 Jackson S.W. Mrs. Garl was born April 7, 1884 at Allison, daughter of George and Amelia (Messner) Eygabroad. She came to Mason City, May 1, 1945 from Wellsburg.

Surviving are a sister Mrs. Frank (Bessie) Lutz, Wellsburg, a brother Joe Eygabroad, Wellsburg, six grandsons and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 1:00 p.m. at the Major Memorial Chapel. The Rev. John G. Walker, pastor of the Assembly of God church, officiated with burial in Rock Falls cemetery.

Pallbearers were Truman Schulte, Lawrence Garl, Jerry Garl, Donald Schulte, Marvin Schulte and Virgil Schulte, all grandsons. Mrs. Marvin Schulte and Mrs. Donald Schulte were in charge of flowers.
