Gertie Neesen, 83, Died At Tipton

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Tipton for Mrs. Gertie Neessen, 83, who died the previous Wednesday at the home there from complications of old age. Burial services were held at Tipton.

Mrs. Neessen was born in 1891 to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Geerdes in Shiloh township west of Wellsburg. She was united in marriage to Earl Neessen and they made their home in Wellsburg. He was associated with the Wellsburg telephone exchange. Later they moved to Tipton to make their home.

Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Robert (Lois) Lawson of Springfield, Ill., and Mrs. Arthur (Frances) Dickinson of Boulder, Colo. Eight grandchildren also survive. Preceding the deceased in death were her husband, also two brothers: George Geerdes and Albert Geerdes, and one sister, Mrs. Trieno (Alice) Riekena.

Attending the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hook of Aplington, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Slinker of Grundy Center, and Mrs. Albert Geerdes.
