Mrs. John Flessner Dead

Mrs. John Flessner died at her home near Cleves last Sunday after a lingering illness. Her maiden name was Gertie Beving, a sister of D. J. Beving of Wellsburg. She was born January 2, 1876, in German township in this county and has lived here all her life. On Dec. 18, 1903, she was married to John Flessner and moved with him to a farm in Hardin county near Cleves. For the past two months she has been in very poor health and her death has not been unexpected. She had a host of friends and was loved by all who enjoyed an intimate acquaintance. The funeral takes place today.

Mrs. John Flessner

An exceedingly sad death occurred last Sunday in the passing away of Mrs. John Flessner, living near Cleves, the result of quick consumption.

Mrs. Flessner was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Beving living 10 miles southeast of Ackley, and was united in marriage to Mr. Flessner about 11 months ago. She was a splendid example of young womanhood and up to a short time ago when tuberculosis set in was enjoying the best of health. She was born in German township twenty-eight years ago and was a prominent member of the society of that neighborhood.

Besides the husband she is survived by her father and mother, who has been an invalid for twenty years, and several brothers. As a sister died a year ago under similar circumstances, this second untimely leavetaking makes a double burden of sorrow for her family. The sympathy of a host of friends is extended to the sorrowing relations.

The funeral services were held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the Schmidt church, interment taking place in the cemetery adjoining.
