Luppe Feikes

Luppe Feikes, 93, of Iowa Falls, formerly of Ackley, died October 11, 1991 at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 14 at the Faith Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Diehl officiating. Singers were Bernice Bangasser and Wanda Fritz. Organist was Darlene Heetland. Ushers were Merlin Bangasser and Thomas Sherfield. Casketbearers were Dean Feikes, Neil Ibeling, Joey Krull, Tom Richtsmeier, LaVern Schipper and Troy Warschkow. Interment was in the East Friesland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Luppe Feikes was born February 21, 1898 in Tickelward, Germany the son of Luppe and Antje Groen Feikes. Luppe attended School in Germany. He was united in marriage to Theda Wubbena, October 29th, 1921 in Bunde, Germany. He and Theda came to America in 1922.

He was a farmer in the Ackley area his entire life. He was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church in rural Ackley.

He is survived by four sons, Meint Feikes of Iowa Falls, Henry Feikes of Ackley, Fred Feikes of Ackley, Louie Feikes of Ackley; two daughters, Martha Oelmann of Iowa Falls and Annie Oelmann of Iowa Falls; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and four sisters in Germany.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Theda; one daughter; two great-grandchildren; seven sisters and one brother, Juren.
