Lieut. Melvin Gladstone, Former Wellsburg Boy, Killed Over France

Lieut. Melvin Gladstone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Gladstone, formerly of Wellsburg, was killed in action over France on June 20. He was a bombardier who had completed 25 missions over France and Germany.

The Gladstone family lived in Wellsburg several years where Mr. Gladstone operated a general store. The son who was killed was born in Wellsburg. He was 23 years old. He is survived by his parents and by one brother, Lee. The parents now live at McHenry, Ill.
