Cedar Falls--L. Carsen Plaehn, 66, of 2421 Neola St., died at home Monday, Oct. 3, of natural causes.

He was born April 1, 1928, in Evanston, Ill., son of Louis and Dixie Deering Plaehn. He married Marilyn Moore on April 30, 1949, in Dike.

Mr. Plaehn was a cattle buyer and feeder for many years.

Survived by: his wife; a son, David of Corvallis, Ore.; and a brother, Tom of Oklahoma City.

Preceded in death by: a son, Daniel.

Private family services: will be Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Friends may call from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the family present.

Memorials: directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society.
