Mrs. Ida Anderson, 76, Died Saturday At C. Falls Hospital

Mrs. Ida Anderson, age 76, died from a heart attack at 5:30 Saturday evening at the Sartori hospital in Cedar Falls while eating her supper. She had been a patient at the hospital over two weeks following a heart attack at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. K. Andersen in Dike.

She was born Dec. 3, 1876, at Wallby-Skone, Sweden, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins Larsen. She was married Feb. 7, 1897, to Martin Anderson in Sweden, and they were the parents of one daughter, Mrs. Andersen of Dike. Mr. Anderson was killed in an accident a short time after the marriage and Mrs. Anderson and daughter came to America in March, 1901, locating at Britt, Iowa, where Mrs. Anderson became a naturalized citizen.

Mrs. Anderson was a chef at the Minnesota Masonic Home near Minneapolis for 22 years, coming to Dike about ten years ago to make her home with her daughter and family.

She leaves besides her daughter, three grandchildren, Mrs. Emil Bock of Iowa City, Mrs. Mervin Hansen of Dike and Mrs. Dean Bourquin of Geneva, Iowa, and six great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs. Elma Johnson of Chicago, Mrs. Analia Ollson and Mrs. Mia Martinsson in Sweden; one brother, John Hawkins at Richfield, Calif. Two brothers preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Richfield Order of Eastern Star and Bethesda White Shrine in Minneapolis, also a member of the Swedish Lutheran church.

Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home of her daughter and 2:00 at the Dike Methodist church with Rev L. D. Runion officiating. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery in Dike.

Mrs. Anderson has always been very active and loved to work in her flower garden. She will be greatly missed not only by her family but by the many friends she had made in Dike.
