George Billman Died Suddenly Of Heart Attack

George Billman, who spent the greater share of his life in Dike and vicinity, died last Thursday, June 10, at the home of his step-son, Tim Lines, at Estherville. Death came very suddenly from a heart attack. He had been making his home with the Lines family since last December following the death of his wife. He was 74 years old.

He had a very wide acquaintance in this locality and was held in high regard by the many who knew him.

Funeral services were held at the Dike Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. Wm. Galbreth in charge. The text was Romans 14:7--For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. Mrs. Lloyd Farrell and Mrs. Harlo Bowers sang two request numbers.

Burial was in Elmwood cemetery in Dike. Casketbearers were Herman Nielsen, Roy Ditzler, Will Davids, Fred Roberts, Frank Roberts and Adam Deadrick.

Relatives attending from out of town were Frank Billman, Holton, Kans.; Fred and Ed Billman and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hurlbut of Cedar Falls; Henry Billman, Mason City; Mrs. Mary Jull, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Kirk Stewart, Waterloo; Mrs. Jacob Billman and Mrs. Albert Bitner of Clear Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Tim Lines and family of Estherville.
