Mrs. H. Spaulding passed away at her home in Dike last Thursday evening about 8:00 o'clock after an illness of three weeks.

Sarah Francis Spaulding was born in Big Platt township, Wisconsin, May 20, 1852 and died at her home in Dike April 8, 1915.

She was married to Harris J. Spaulding in Wysox township, Carroll county, Illinois, January 8, 1869. They moved from Illinois to Grundy county in 1881 and located near Steamboat Rock and in 1884 moved to the vicinity of Dike, Iowa.

She united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Dike August 3, 1913, in which communion she continued until her departure. She was the mother of two children, Clara Billman and Don H. Spaulding. There are three grandchildren, Harris Lines and Wava and Wayne Spaulding. Four sisters, three brothers, and husband survive her, one brother having passed away.

While experiencing much suffering during her sickness she also manifested much patience until her final hour came and the spirit sped from the sphere of sorrow and suffering.
