Walter James Platt
Walter James Platt, 46, who resided on a farm west of Hudson, died Friday in a Cedar Falls hospital following an operation. He was born in Waterloo April 30, 1885, and made Black Hawk county his home except for 11 years in Estevan, Sask., Can.
Platt married Miss Minnie Elliott at Algona, Ia., Oct. 22, 1917. Before he became ill he was engaged in farming west of Hudson, Ia.
Surviving Platt are his wife, two stepsons, Roy Elliott, Chino, Cal., and Harold, at home; his stepmother, Mrs. George Platt, 279 Hammond avenue, Waterloo; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Rupp, Coddington, Wis.; Mrs. John Dack, Reinbeck, Ia.; Mrs. S. M. Keplinger, Long Beach, Cal. and Mrs. George Glasner, Bettendorf, Ia., and two brothers, George R. Platt, Hudson, Ia., and B. D. Platt, Coddington, Wis.
Mr. Platt was a member of the Hudson Baptist church.
The body was taken to the Kearns mortuary. Funeral arrangements await word from relatives.
