Jackie Folkerts Services Held

Jackie Folkerts of Dike passed away Saturday, January 15, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls of cancer, having attained the age of 62 years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 18, at the United Methodist Church in Dike at 11 a.m. with Pastor Thelma Subramanian officiating.

Pallbearers were Darrell Folkerts, Dale Heidemann, Lynn Holman, Glen Witt, Don Brown and Don Folkerts.

Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

A memorial fund has been established.

Jacqueline Marie Folkerts was born February 9, 1931, in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Harriett (Entwisle) Konichek. She received her education in Wadena and Elgin. On November 14, 1964, Jackie was united in marriage to Dale Folkerts. They made their home in Dike.

Jackie had many interests, including crafts, quilting, sewing, ceramics, porcelain dolls, artificial flower arranging, oil painting, wood crafts, and most especially her family and grandchildren.

Jackie was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her husband Dale; her mother, Harriet Konichek of Grundy Center; 3 sons, John Craig of Dike, Gary Craig of Houston, TX and Donald Craig of Waterloo; 5 daughters, Elaine Brown of Sacramento, CA, Sharon Eubank of Cedar Falls, Shelly Folkerts of Sacramento, CA, Patty Peterson of Lawrence, KS, and Pam Folkerts of Stout; 10 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gene Konichek of Fairbanks, AK, and Norman Konichek of Milwaukee, WI; and 3 sisters, Vera Cline of Decorah, Sandra Kiewiet of Grundy Center and Carol Williams of Kansas City.

The Dike Funeral Chapel, Dike, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
