Flossie Meester, age 99, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born January 15, 1906, near Buck Grove in Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of Rudolph B. and Bauke Heerts Junker. She received her education in Pleasant Valley Township.

On February 23, 1927, Flossie was united in marriage to Clarence Meester at the home of her parents. The couple farmed south of Parkersburg until they moved to Parkersburg in 1956. Clarence passed away November 12, 1973. Flossie resided in her home until a hip fracture in June of 1999, and then made her home with her daughter. In January 2004, she entered the Grundy Long Term Care Center.

Flossie was a member of the Reformed Church of Stout and attended faithfully as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

On Saturday, April 16, 2005, Flossie died at the Grundy Long Term Care Center, Grundy Center, Iowa, of natural causes, reading the age of 99 years and three months.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; a grandson Mervin Glen Weise; her parents; three brothers Ben, John and Edd Junker; eight sisters Johanna, Rudene and Carrie Junker, Minnie Hook, Frauke Hook, Reka Sents, Hattie Ludeman and Henrietta Meester.

Flossie is survived by her two daughters-Lois and her husband Elvin Wiese, and Irma and her husband Paul Schipper; five granchildren; fourteen great granchildren; one great great granddaughter and one sister-in-law June Meester.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at the Reformed Church of Stout, Stout, Iowa with the Rev. David Powers officiating. Organist and Pianist were Elaine Schnell and Darlys Wiese. Soloist was Mark Hubbard and Bonnie Wessels and Austin Dodd gave eulogies.

Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkesburg, Iowa. Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, was in charge of arrangements.
