Margaret M. Koch, 85

Margaret M. Koch, 85, of rural Hudson, died December 3 at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Funeral services were December 7 at the First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck. Burial was in the Reinbeck Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck.

Born on February 19, 1917, in rural Grundy Center, Margaret was the daughter of Peter and Marie (Hansen) Meinert. She grew up in the area of her birth and received her education in rural schools near Grundy Center. On December 25, 1936, she was united in marriage to Herman T. Koch. The couple farmed northwest of Morrison for a time, then moved to the farm northeast of Reinbeck, where she remained active in farming until recently.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters, one at birth; and a brother.

Surviving is her son; a brother, Ted Meinert, a sister, Hildegarde Dirks and a sister, Marie Whitney, all of Grundy Center; a brother; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
