Former Wellsburg Man Died Sunday
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. at the Engelkes Funeral home and at 1:30 p.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church at Parkersburg for Charles Schrage, 90, of Sinclair. Interment was made at Oak Hill cemetery at Parkersburg.
Mr. Schrage, a native of Germany and a retired farmer was born on October 7, 1866. He died Sunday at Edna's Nursing home in Allison. He suffered a stroke on Thanksgiving Day.
The Schrages were former Wellsburg residents having operated a store in the former Wellsburg Cafe building for many years. They moved from Wellsburg to Sinclair in 1918.
Mr. Schrage is survived by his wife who is confined to her home with a fractured hip, also four daughters, Mrs. Mabel DeVries, Mrs. Allen Dale Meyer and Mrs. Myles Froemming all of Parkersburg, and Mrs. R. S. Welch of Waterloo.
Also surviving are four sons, Ernest of Parkersburg, Henry of Waterloo, Robert of Ackley and Thomas of New Hartford.
One daughter, Mrs. Thomas Neessen Jr. preceded the father in death.

Charles Schrage, Former Wellsburg Man, Dies
Charles Schrage, who for many years was engaged in the tavern and restaurant business in Wellsburg, died Sunday at a nursing home in Allison following a stroke on Thanksgiving day. He was 90 years old.
Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at Bethel Lutheran church in Parkersburg. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery, Parkersburg.
While he was engaged in business in Wellsburg, he occupied the Neessen building which is now used by Henry Geerdes Jr. for his Iowa Radiant Heat business.
After leaving Wellsburg several years ago, the Schrage family moved to a farm near Sinclair, Iowa.
Surviving are the wife, four daughters, Mabel DeVries, Mrs. Allen Dale Meyer and Mrs. Myles Froemming, all of Parkersburg, and Mrs. R. S. Welch, Waterloo. There are four surviving sons. They are Ernest, Parkersburg, Henry, Waterloo, Robert of Ackley and Thomas of New Hartford.
