Klaas Witbaard, 59, Dies at Gladbrook

Gladbrook, Ia.--Klaas Witbaard, 59, operator of the Gladbrook bakery the last two and one-half years, died Wednesday noon following a few days' illness of high blood pressure and heart trouble.

The family moved here from Wellsburg, and came to America 14 years ago from Holland.

Mr. Witbaard's wife survives, also a son, Klaas, at home, and six daughters, Gertrude Witbaard, New York City, Mrs. Alida Saathoff, Grundy Center, Betsy Witbaard, student nurse at Rochester, and Maria, Nellie and Johanna Witbaard, at home.

Rites For Gladbrook Baker To Be Saturday

Gladbrook, Ia.--Funeral services for Klaas Witbaard, 59, Gladbrook baker, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical church. The pastor, Rev. F. J. Mittler, and Rev. F. A. Smith of the M.E. church will be in charge.

Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery. Mr. Witbaard died Wednesday following a brief illness.
