Lt. Col. Donald Ashby Dies In Texas Hospital

Graveside services for Lt. Col. Donald Ashby of San Antonio, TX were held on Thursday, May 10, at Winterset, Iowa.

He died on Sunday, May 6, at Wilford Hall Air Force Hospital in San Antonio, TX. He retired as a Lt. Col. in the Air Force.

Survivors are his wife Lucille, also two sons, Wayne and Scott.

Preceding him in death were his parents, the Neil Ashbys, also two brothers, Forrest and Stewart.

Lt. Col. Ashby was a former Wellsburg resident some years ago when he was in the newspaper business with his father, and was also owner of the Spokesman at one time.
