Ray Snittjer Services Held

Ray Snittjer, 82, of Eldora died Thursday, June 4, at the Eldora Manor Nursing home of natural causes.

Ray was born June 1, 1910 in Grundy county the son of Herman and Mary Badge Snittjer. On May 13, 1950, he married Beulah Botts in Kirksville, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Grace Bachman; and 1 brother, Herman "Tuffy" Snittjer.

Survivors include his wife Beulah of Eldora; 1 son, Jack Snittjer of Steamboat Rock; 2 daughters, Nancy McDowell of Iowa Falls, and Jane Luiken of Eldora; 2 sisters, Minnie Juhl of Reinbeck, and Neva Cockerham of Ackley; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Steamboat Rock with Pastor Bruce Baillie officiating. The body was cremated with inurnment in Steamboat Rock Cemetery.

Doyen-Abels Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
