Daniel Sheller

Daniel Sheller was born Sept. 25, 1817, in Franklin county, Pa., and departed this life at the home of his son in Grundy County, Iowa, Jan. 5, 1904, aged 86 years, 3 months and 11 days.

When about twenty-four years old he moved to Carroll County, Illinois. In August 1842 he was married to Catharine Strickler who departed this life June 3, 1884.

In 1866 they with their children moved to Grundy County, Iowa, where he resided until his death. He leaves one brother, three children, seventeen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives to mourn the loss of a dear friend.

He joined the Brethren church soon after his marriage and was elected to the deaconship in 1867 in which office he served faithfully until old age deprived him of his ability to work.

The funeral was held Wednesday at the Ivester church.
