Mrs. Anna Snapp Dies At Waterloo

Mrs. Anna Snapp, a former resident of Grundy county, died Tuesday morning at St. Francis hospital, Waterloo, where she had been a patient for eight days. She was 78 years old. She had been sick for two months with flu and a heart ailment.

Mrs. Snapp will be buried in the cemetery at Ivester tomorrow. Funeral services will be held in Waterloo.

Mrs. Snapp's maiden name was Anna O'Kones. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius O'Kones, among the early residents of west Grundy. She was born in Grundy county January 2nd, 1868. Several years of her early life were spent in Hastings, Neb., where she was married to Albert Snapp in 1886. In 1897 the Snapp family moved to a farm in Grundy county where they remained until the death of the husband May 4, 1939. Following the death of her husband Mrs. Snapp moved to Waterloo to make her home with her son.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Anna Delp of Dumont and Mrs. Francis Ellison of Steamboat Rock, and four sons, Albert T. Snapp of Waterloo, Herman and John Snapp of Steamboat Rock, and William Snapp of Cedar Falls.

Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Five children preceded her in death.
