Irene V. Snapp (1928-2006)

Evansdale--Irene V. Snapp, 78, of Evansdale, died Friday, Aug. 11, at Allen Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

She was born April 8, 1928, in Decatur County, near Leon, daughter of Edward and Zora Fullerton Carrier. She married Lowell Snapp on July 28, 1951. He died Jan. 28, 1976.

She was employed at Wilson's in Waterloo.

Survived by: three sons, Dale (Terrie) of Vinton, Duane (Christine) of Evansdale and Danny (Cathy) of Waterloo; three daughters, Sandra Ellington and Donna Swanton, both of Waterloo, and Debra (Daniel) Snyder of Dunkerton; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Alvin (Iva) Carrier of Waterloo; and a sister, Pauline (Geral) Gray of Evansdale.

Preceded in death by: a great-grandson; two brothers, Ivan and Lowell; and two sisters, Rosa and Goldie.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, Waterloo, with burial in Sheller Cemetery, rural Grundy Center. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial fund: has been established.
