Lois I. Delp

Manly--Lois I. Delp, 91, of 219 E. Elmore in Manly died Friday (Feb. 14, 2003) at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 Spring St. in Manly with Rev. Robert Cumings officiating. Burial will be at the Sheller Cemetery in rural Grundy County with Rev. Kenneth Davidson officiating at the committal service.

Visitation will be one hour before the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be given to the Lois I. Delp Memorial Fund.

Lois was born July 13, 1911, at Ivester Community in Grundy County to Rev. Clarence and Alma (Tucker) Schrock. She was a member of the Hansell, Iowa, Girls State Basketball Championship team. She graduated from Hansell High School in 1932.

Lois was united in marriage to Ralph E. Delp on March 24, 1935, by her father, in Greene, Iowa.

Her home and family were very important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a very keen sense of humor. Lois made great pies, was an avid Hawkeye fan, and loved working with her flowers.

She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Greene. She attended Bethel United Methodist Chruch in Manly and belonged to the Friendship Circle.

Lois is survived by a son, Richard Delp and his wife, Janice, of Manly; two daughters, Mary Patterson and her husband, Donald, of Pryor, Okla., and Dorothy Davidson and her husband, Kenneth, of Welda, Kan.; ten grandchildren, Barry Delp of Davenport, Dennis Delp of Greene, Nancy Peterman of Lytton, Rachel Delp of Wall Lake, Karrie Rathbone of Emporia, Kan., Kevin Davidson of Cullison, Kan., Joanna Smith of Welda, Kan., Jennifer Bhatti of Emporia, Kan., Lois Davidson of Welda, Kan., and David Patterson, Owasso, Okla.; 15 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Faye Streitwiser and her husband, Warren, of Owasso, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; one grandson; three brothers; and one sister.
