Mrs. Betsy Hurlbut, one of the pioneers who came to Iowa in the late fifties with her husband, the late Enoch Hurlbut, passed to the great beyond Thursday evening about 9 p.m. She had been seriously ill for about two weeks and her death was not unexpected. She leaves one son, Frank, of Mason City, four grandsons, and two granddaughters. Funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. at the Baptist church and interment was in the Fairfield cemetery.
