John U. Jutting Funeral Monday

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, March 11, for John U. Jutting, 70, at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church at Ackley. Rev. David Dupee officiated at the services. Mrs. Virgil Heetland was organist. Edward L. Bear was soloist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Robert Balvanz and Mrs. Willis Nederhoff. Pall bearers were Robert Balvanz, Frederick Fisher, Charles Steinfeldt, John VanLoh, W. C. Whorrall and Willis Nederhoff. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

He passed away at the Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo on Saturday after a lingering illness.

John U. Jutting, son of Ubbe and Swantje Christians Jutting was born on Sept. 28, 1903 in Grundy county. He was a faithful member of the East Friesland Presbyterian Church until three years ago when his health failed.

He received his education in Shiloh township.

On Dec. 27, 1928 he was united in marriage to Annie Willems. They farmed northwest of Wellsburg until their retirement and then continued living there.

Surviving are his wife, Annie; one son, Urban of Ackley; one daughter, Mrs. Wesley (Ruth) Oelmann of Steamboat Rock; five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Ross of Ackley.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a stillborn daughter, two sisters and one brother.
