Gueko Hartema Dead

Had Lived in Grundy County; Died Sunday Evening

The death of Geuko Hartema, occurred at the home of his son, northeast of Ackley, Sunday evening last. His illness extended through several months, the immediate cause being anemia.

Deceased was born in the province of East Friesland, Germany, April 23, 1861. On coming to this country, he located on the George Heykens farm, four miles southeast of Ackley, in Grundy county. He and Mrs. Hartema were parents of twelve children; three boys and four girls are living, the others having preceded the father in death.

His age was 64 years, eight months and nine days. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon.
