Dick Geersema Dead

Lived at Aplington; Died in Hospital at Hampton

Dick Geersema, age 59 years, died in Lutheran hospital at Hampton, Friday after a lingering illness. Funeral services at the Aplington Reformed church, and burial in the cemetery of the Eastfriesland Presbyterian church 2 miles southeast of Ackley. Geersema had been employed in the M. H. Wagner blacksmith shop for many years; he was not married. He was born in Hardin county, Nov. 14, 1882, and leaves one brother, George Geersema, of Bancroft, Ia.; one half-brother, Rev. O. Oltman, Raymond, S.D.; four sisters, Mrs. Gertie Ruitjens, Little Rock, Ia.; Mrs. Anna Oltman, Allison, Mrs. Marie Hyde, Tomona, Cal.; and Mrs. Henry VanLengen, Ackley.
