Mrs. James Anders Dies In Massachusetts
Mrs. James Anders, the former Helen Louise Meyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eilert J. Meyer, died in Framingham, Massachusetts, last Thursday night. She had been afflicted with the flu, which developed into a heart condition that brought on death quite suddenly. Her mother, Mrs. Eilert Meyer, was with her daughter and family when she died.
The body was brought to Grundy Center and reached here Sunday night and was taken to the Ferree funeral home where arrangements were made.
There was a prayer service at the home in Massachusetts before the body was sent to Grundy county. Services were at the Colfax Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in the Colfax church cemetery.
Mrs. Anders was 37 years old on June 23 of this year. She was born on a farm in Colfax township. She attended school in Wellsburg and graduated there. Later she attended Iowa State Teachers College from which she graduated.
She taught school in Iowa for four years before moving to Baltimore, Maryland, in 1947. While there she was in the Insurance business and was a member of the Life Insurance Association. She was also president of the Business & Professional Women's Club for two years; vice president of the Women's Society for Christian Service of the Mt. Vernon Methodist Church, and Sunday School teacher for several years.
She was united in marriage to James Anders of Elkton, Maryland, on April 18, 1958, in the Mt. Vernon Methodist Church, Baltimore, Maryland. In April 1959 they moved to Framingham, Mass. where their daughter Julie Louise was born August 17, 1959. They were residing there at the time of her death.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Julie Louise; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eilert J. Meyer; 3 sisters, Mrs. George Ebert (Gladys), Ames; Mrs. Loran Mohr (Thelma), Cedar Falls; and Mrs. Jack Gray (Barbara), Ames.
