Wayne Meyer Services Held

Wayne A. Meyer, 75, of Hobart, IN, formerly of Waterloo and Wellsburg, died Monday, February 22 at his home in Hobart.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 27 at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to the time of the services on Saturday.

Memorials may be directed to either the American Cancer Society or Ravenwood Health Care Center in Waterloo.

Wayne was born May 14, 1917 in Wellsburg the son of George W. and Alberdena Neessen Meyer. He graduated from Wellsburg High School and then attended Central College in Pella.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Meyer in June of 1942. They later divorced. He then married Eva Jackel on July 23, 1961 in Dubuque.

Wayne was an industrial engineer with Rath Packing Co. in Waterloo for 35 years, retiring in 1977. He was a WWII Veteran.

Survivors included 2 daughters, Linda Celedrese of Hobart, IN, and Judy Snyders of Mundelein, IL; 1 son, Robert Meyer of Des Plaines, IL; a step-son, Keith Harken of Waterloo; a step-daughter, Marion Harmon of St. Charles, IL; 1 brother, Herbert Meyer of Dubuque; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his second wife; a step-son, Frank Harken; and his parents.

Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Funeral Chapel in Waterloo was in charge of the arrangements.
