Herbert O. Eells, 72, died Monday evening in Virginia Gay Hospital following a short illness.

He operated the Dog & Suds Drive-In restaurant in Vinton from 1962 until retiring in 1979. Prior to 1962 he had been a state game warden for 16 years.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma; a son, Donald of LaCrescenta, Calif.; a daughter, Sally Ford of Swisher; a brother, N.C. of Cedar Rapids; and two grandchildren.

Services: 10 a.m. today, Vinton Presbyterian Church. The body will be cremated following the service and private graveside services will be held at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Vinton Presbyterian Church, Vinton, Iowa 52349. Campbell-Russell's in charge of arrangements.

Herbert Eells, Former Resident, Dies Monday

Mrs. Gladys Ashby received word that Herbert Eells of Vinton died last week Monday. Memorial services were held on Thursday.

Survivors include his wife, a son and a daughter, and one brother, Norval Eells. He was a one-time resident of Wellsburg and was a 1932 graduate of Wellsburg high school.
