Former Grundy Woman Dies In Waterloo

Mrs. Grover Thompson, who was a resident of Grundy county near Grundy Center several years, died Monday night of pneumonia in St. Francis hospital in Waterloo. She was 87 years old. Death came only a few hours after she had been brought to the hospital from her home in Traer.

Mrs. Thompson was a native of Sweden. She was born October 12, 1867. At the age of 18 she came to America and to Grundy Center. She was married here in 1900 to Grover Thompson. They resided here for ten years, after which they moved to Traer where they since resided.

Surviving are the husband; four sons, Weldon, Newton and Herbert from Dysart, and Manly who resides in California. There are five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Lena Willard, Dayton, Ohio.

Burial in Grundy Center
Funeral services were in States Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.
