Sharon K. Lutes, 78, of Conrad, IA passed away in her home on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. Funeral services will be at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church in Conrad. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the church. A memorial has been established in her name. The Conrad Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Sharon was born October 19, 1938 to Ray and Genevieve (Miller) Morris in Marshalltown. She graduated from Liscomb High School in 1956 and was then united in marriage for 60 years to the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Lutes, on December 23, 1956 in Liscomb. Sharon was a wonderful wife, homemaker, and mother of 3 children. Along with being a homemaker, Sharon also co/owned and operated with her friend Bev Miller, a ceramic business from the basement of her home, called “Kiln and Candle”. Along the way she also worked for several years at The Conrad Pharmacy, working in the gift and front end department. Sharon was a former member of the Liscomb Church of Christ, and Oakwood Golf Course in Conrad where she and Bob loved to play. In her younger years, along with golf, Sharon also enjoyed being part of a ladies bowling league with her sister Charlene, a couple’s bowling league with Bob, and loudly supporting her children’s sporting events! By her later years, Sharon had enjoyed collecting and displaying a beautiful collection of antiques and dolls, had a great time with her friends for many years playing in a couple of ladies bridge clubs, and loudly supported her GRANDKID’S sporting events!
Sharon will be missed by her husband, Bob, a daughter, Cindy (Todd) Reel of Conrad, a son, Doug (Jill) Lutes of Conrad, nine grandchildren Justin (Heather) Goedken; Jared (Gwen) Goedken; Nathan Goedken; Jessica (Jeremy) Bell; Alyssa Reel; Brent Reel; Ryan Lutes; Tyler Lutes; Nicole Lutes, two great grandchildren Emma Goedken and Hudson Bell, two sisters Shirely Patterson, Connie (Denny) Fulton, and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Goedken, her parents Ray and Genevieve Miller Morris, her sister Charlene Moler, and her brother, Larry Morris.
