Darla Ubben, 46, of Conrad, IA, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, IA. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the BCLUW High School Gymnasium in Conrad. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church in Conrad. It is requested that you enter through the west doors for visitation. Interment will be at the Conrad Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Darla Ubben Memorial Fund. Arrangements are entrusted to the Conrad Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes.

Darla was born December 21, 1970, to William “Bill” and Ardella (Marks) Hansen in Waterloo, IA. She graduated from Aplington High School in 1989. She received her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. Darla was united in marriage to Eugene Ubben on August 9, 1991, in Aplington, IA. She was the executive director of the Conrad Chamber Main Street for many years. Darla was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Conrad where she was a deacon, taught Sunday school, and was a former church secretary. She enjoyed attending her children’s activities and scrapbooking. Darla loved family time and vacationing with them.

Darla will be missed by her husband, Eugene; a son, Conner; two daughters, Samantha and Madison, all of Conrad; her father and stepmother, Bill (Sheryl) Hansen of Aplington; two sisters, Debbie Tellinghuisen of Brandon, SD, Denise Hansen of Hubbard, IA; a brother, Danny (Cheryl) Hansen of Primghar, IA; three stepbrothers, Dan Groeneveld of Aplington, Dennis (Kelly) Groeneveld of Acworth, GA, Duane (Melanie) Groeneveld of Aplington; a stepsister, Dee (Greg) Priske of Eldora, IA; her father-in-law, Richard E. Ubben of Dumont, IA; two sisters-in-law, Sandra (Jim) Nelson of Iowa Falls, IA, Carmen (Merle) Hinz of Waterloo, IA; several aunts and uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ardella Hansen; paternal grandparents, Ray and Ruth Hansen; maternal grandparents, John and Anna Marks; mother-in-law, Virginia Ubben; and a niece, Karen Link.
