Lucille Ellen Buhmann Anderson, 88, of Reinbeck, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at the French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Reinbeck Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Reinbeck Public Library.

Lucille was born on Feb. 20, 1929, on a farm north of Reinbeck. She is the daughter of Henry and Ella Reimer Buhmann and granddaughter of John and Johanna Thoms Reimer. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Parkview Nursing Home in Reinbeck.

She attended Grant #8 Country School and graduated from Dike High School in the Class of 1946. She went on to get her teaching degree at what was then the Teacher's College (UNI) and taught 7 years in the elementary in Beaman.

Lucille was united in marriage with James McConnell Anderson on August 9, 1951 at Strawberry Point. They made their home on a farm in rural Beaman until 1957 when they purchased a farm between New Hartford and Parkersburg. She enjoyed a large garden and taking care of the livestock.

After retiring from the farm she moved to Parkersburg and continued to substitute teach and work at O's Gold Seeds. It was in 1984 that she moved to Reinbeck to help care for her mother and worked for the Harms Poultry Processing and sorted corn at Pioneer. Lucille lived on an acreage on the edge of Reinbeck with her son James since 1988. She became a resident at Parkview Manor on Jan. 13, 2012.

Lucille was active in the Methodist Churches at Beaman, New Hartford, and Parkersburg. She was Miss Lucille to the Parkersburg Pre-school Sunday School Class for many years. She was a member of the New Hartford and Parkersburg Methodist Church Ladies' Circles and a member of the Reinbeck UCC as a child and later in life after 1984. She was a member of the UCC Ladies' Aide and Circle at the UCC in Reinbeck.

Left to celebrate her life are her children: Esther Anderson of Dubuque; Ruth (Ken) Seehusen of Greene; and Jim Anderson of Reinbeck; three grandchildren: Christopher (Holly) Fleshner of Reinbeck; Ryan (Kristen) Fleshner of Allison; James Seehusen of Greene; five great-grandchildren: Emma, Lauren, Cole, Linde, and Lydia Fleshner, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Anderson, parents, grandparents, brothers and sister-in-laws, John (Marcella) Buhman and Lester (Inez) Buhman, niece Mary Buhman, nephew Steve Buhman.
