Ronald "Ron" Voss, 78, of Grundy Center, passed away on Thursday, October 26th at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A visitation will be held Monday, October 30th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 31st at 10:30 AM at the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center with Pastors Al Polito and Beth A. Olson officiating. Burial will follow services at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the family to be given to the charities of their choice. The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center is caring for Ron and his family.

Ron was born on February 1, 1939, on a farm in rural Holland, IA, to his parents Rudolph and Fannie (Itzen) Voss. Ron grew up on the family farm and graduated from Grundy Center High School with the class of 1957. On March 1, 1968, Ron was united in marriage to Candi (Claassen) Voss at the Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center, IA. Ron spent most of his career working for the Farm Bureau Spokesman as a pre-press operator helping publish their articles. Ron enjoyed many different hobbies including golf, bowling, fast pitch softball, and card games. Alongside playing sports, Ron also enjoyed watching sports on television. Ron especially enjoyed being a family man and spending his free time with his friends and family, making time to attend any activity he could for his children and grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his wife Candi Voss; children Todd (Julie) Voss of Johnston, IA, Tracey (Matt) Strong of Olathe, KS; sister Ina (Joe) Ross of Grundy Center; brothers Paul (Jeannette) Voss of Grundy Center and Clarence Voss of Grundy Center; grandchildren Nick, Natalie, Nevada, Amanda, Blake, and Tyler. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harold, Carl, and Bill, and sister Leona.
