Linda J. Fox, 70, of Wellsburg, passed away on Sunday, December 10th at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Visitation for Linda will be held on Friday, December 15th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Doyen-Abels Funeral Chapel in Wellsburg. The funeral service for Linda will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 10:30 AM at the Doyen-Abels Funeral Chapel. A private family burial will follow services at the Steamboat Rock Cemetery. Memorials may be donated in Linda’s name to the Wellsburg Ambulance Service, Wellsburg, Iowa.

Linda was born on August 27, 1947 in Hamburg, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold & Delores (Houchin) Sharp. Growing up, Linda and her family lived in Watson, Missouri where she attended country school. After having moved around a lot with her family, she graduated from Freemont-Mills High School in Tabor, Iowa, in 1966. On October 14, 1967, Linda was united in marriage to Richard Fox in Kearney, Nebraska. Linda then went on to attend junior college in Norfolk, Nebraska, where she earned a 2 year degree in General Studies. With Richard’s job transferring him to different banks, the family later moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where they lived for a number of years. Linda, Rich and their children then moved around a lot in the state of Nebraska, after Rich’s leave from FDIC. They later made their home in Wellsburg in April of 1999.

She worked mostly as a stay at home mom to care for her 3 children but she worked a short time in a greenhouse in South Dakota, where she learned her incredible talent of floral arranging. Linda specialized in making unique, beautiful silk floral arrangements and sold these arrangements privately for some time owning her own business, Creations in Silk. Linda also worked a short time at the Brick Bungalow in Wellsburg.

Linda loved bowling, camping, reading and cooking and of course it is no surprise she loved gardening and nature, which inspired her silk arrangements she put together. She will be dearly missed by her family and close friends she leaves behind, but will be reunited with her father, brother and her daughter Adrienne.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rich of Wellsburg; mother Delores Sharp of Grundy Center; sons Neal (Carol) Fox of Oelwein, IA and Aron Fox of Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren Samantha (Cesar) Cisneros of Omaha, NE, Shawn Reverts of Iowa Falls, Shelby Choate of Webster City, Vince Fox of Webster City, Axel Fox and Cameron Miller of Oelwein and Tjaden Fox of Colfax, IA and Aliyah Fox of Cedar Rapids; 2 great-grandchildren Marty & Marvin Cisneros. Linda is preceded in death by her father; brother Ronald Sharp; daughter Adrienne Fox.
