Julius Heikens, who became a resident of this section in the early 60's breathed his last at his country home south of town Monday. He was not afflicted with a long-suffering illness, but a week previous to his death was in this city on business. But death had marked him as its own, and the outstretched hand beckoned him and he obeyed the summons.
Surviving him is a son and a daughter, Mrs. Meyer, whose home is in Clay county; Mrs. Heikens died several years ago.
Funeral services are to be held from the Timmerman church Thursday afternoon, the remains consigned to their last resting place in the cemetery that closely adjoins.
