Mrs. Charles H. Casey

Belle C. Will was born near Tipton, Cedar county, Ia., January 3, 1859, and in 1872 removed with her parents to Grundy county. August 14, 1895, she was married to Charles H. Casey of this place. She had long been a sufferer from the dread disease, consumption, and everything possible was done to relieve her sufferings, she succumbed to the ravages of the disease and on Saturday evening, June 24, 1889[sic], the soul returned to Him who gave it and Mrs. Casey was at rest.

Deceased was a loving wife and sister, a good neighbor and an earnest christian woman, and patiently bore the pain, her faith in the Lord never wavering and being ready for the end when it came. She leaves to mourn her death a bereaved husband, an aged mother and one brother besides a large circle of sorrowing friends.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church Monday afternoon, a large number of friends paying their last respects to the memory of the departed sister. The church was appropriately decorated by the ladies of the congregation, and the sermon was delivered by Rev. C. H. Marsh, his text being Rev. 22:3. "And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him." Dr. Fellows offered prayer and fitting songs were sung by the choir. "She rests in peace."
