Died, at the residence of his son, W. D. Ceperley, on Friday morning, January 20, 1899, Uncle David Ceperley, as he was familiarly known, of old age. He was born in New York, February 2, 1817, and moved to Illinois with his parents when a young man, where they resided until 1870. He then came to Iowa and lived here until a few years ago when he went to Chicago to live with a daughter. A year ago he lost his aged help-mate and then returned to Iowa and has since lived with his son, W. D. Thus passed away one of our old land marks, who was always faithful and true and none knew him but to love and respect him. He leaves three sons and three daughters to mourn his loss, five of whom were present at the funeral. A sister from Clarksville was also present. The funeral was held from the house Sunday, Rev. Perry officiating. The remains were interred in Fairfield cemetery.
