On July 2nd, 1874, she was joined in marriage to E. O. Hasbrouck at Eldora, Ia. Mrs. Hasbrouck was the mother of eight children, three girls and five boys, who with the bereaved husband, are left to mourn the loss of a true and loving wife and mother. Mrs. Hasbrouck was taken suddenly ill Sunday, August 14, and recovered from the attack but on Thursday was worse again and died Thursday evening about 9 o'clock. Funeral services were held at the home of the deceased Sunday afternoon at 1:30 and at the Baptist church at 2 o'clock. A large number of friends and neighbors attended the services and beautiful emblems and flowers surrounded the casket in the church. The subject of the sermon by the pastor, Rev. C. H. Marsh, was "Thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." At the close of the services at the church the remains were carried to the cemetery followed by friends, members of the Rathbone Sisters and citizens.
