May Dinnes Funeral At Ivester Thursday

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Ivester Church of the Brethren for Miss May E. Dinnes, 76, who died April 29 at the Valley View Nursing Center in Eldora.

Rev. John Ditmars, pastor of the Ivester Church, officiated. Mrs. Howard Cakerice was the organist and Russell Kruse was vocalist.

Pallbearers were D. L. Butler, Irvin Cakerice, Harold Hogle, Jay Miller, George Paxton and Victor Schwarck. Mrs. Martin Schwarck and Mrs. Charles Sword cared for the flowers.

Burial was in the Sheller Cemetery. The Longnecker Funeral Home of Eldora was in charge of funeral arrangements.

May E. Dinnes, the daughter of John and Mary Sheller Dinnes was born June 16, 1891 in Grundy county. She lived in Grundy and Hardin counties her entire lifetime.

May E. Dinnes, the daughter the Ivester Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Ralph and Orla Dinnes; and one sister, Mrs. Emma Hoffa.

Surviving are three nephews, John and Fred Dinnes of Eldora and Dale Dinnes of Grundy Center; and three nieces, Mrs. Bruce Newton and Leila of Grundy Center and Mrs. Robert Lichty of California.
