Hubbard Services For Elmer Carter

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church of Hubbard for Elmer Carter, 64, who passed away at Hubbard Wednesday.

The Rev. Arthur Kruetzmann officiated with burial in the Sheller Cemetery at Ivester. Pallbearers were Frank D. Lau, Ernest Lau, Leon Williams, Arthur Boeke, Neil Thomas and Will Rieks with vocals provided by Frederick Kix, accompanied at the organ by W. J. Mack. Arrangements were made by the Boeke Funeral Home of Hubbard.

Elmer Lawrence Carter was born Aug. 6, 1897, at Rossville, Ill., the son of James W. and Fanny Duncan Carter. He was married to Elsie Lau at Eldora on Dec. 24, 1920. He farmed in the Union community then in past years operated a grocery store in Hubbard. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church at Hubbard.

Survivors include Mrs. Carter; a son, Richard Carter of Eldora; a daughter, Mrs. Delmer (Helen) White of LaPorte City; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.

Funeral Services Held At Hubbard For Elmer Carter

Hubbard-- Funeral services were held Oct. 27 from the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church of Hubbard for Elmer Carter who died here Oct. 25. He was 64 years old.

The Rev. Arthur Kruetzmann officiated with burial in the Sheller Cemetery at Ivester.

Elmer Lawrence Carter was born Aug. 6, 1897, at Rossville, Ill., the son of James W. and Fanny (Duncan) Carter. He married Elsie Lau at Eldora on Dec. 24, 1920. To this union two children were born.

Mr. Carter was a farmer at Union and for the past years operated a grocery store in Hubbard.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie; a son, Richard of Eldora; a daughter, Mrs. Delmer (Helen) White of La Porte City and seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews of Peoria and Bloomington, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.
