Obituary

Jacob Albright was born in Wentenberg, Germany, Oct. 24, 1827 and died early Sunday morning, May 3, 1908, at his old home in Shiloh township, aged 80 years, 6 months, 9 days. He has lived on the old home farm for over forty years. He came to America in the early fifties, lived in Illinois eight years and then moved to Grundy county, where he resided until his death. In 1858 he was married to Barbara Delph of Illinois, who departed this life Nov. 20, 1907. To this union was born eleven children, five sons and six daughters. Ten children remain to mourn the death of a loving father, and mother. He also leaves thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. By his death the community loses one of its most honorable and upright citizens. Interment was made in the Sheller cemetery, near Ivester.--Steamboat Rock Pilot
