Mrs. Fred C. Schmidt, 65, passed away quite suddenly at her home in Pierre, S.D., Monday morning after suffering a stroke Saturday morning from which she never regained consciousness.

Funeral services will be held first at Pierre on Tuesday. The body will then be brought to Holland, where services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Engelkes Funeral Home and at 2 o'clock in the Christian Reformed church.

Burial will be in the Colfax Center Presbyterian church.

Mrs. Schmidt was born April 12, 1890, on a farm in Lincoln township, where she attended country school and grew to young womanhood.

She and Mr. Schmidt were married in 1933[sic] and made their home at Pierre where they had lived ever since. She had been in apparent good health and her death comes as a shock to her family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Alex of Pierre and George of Mobridge; three daughters, Mrs. Velma Higgins and Mrs. Dorothy Wilcox of Pierre and Mrs. Marie Jarrard of Casper, Wyo., and two stepsons, Fred, Holland, and George, of Pierre.
