John Buskohl Rites Friday

Funeral services for John Buskohl were held at the home in Grundy Center at one o'clock Friday afternoon and later at the Colfax Center Presbyterian church. Rev. W. Eekhoff officiated at the services. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mr. Buskohl was 74 years old and he resided in Grundy county during all of his life. In late years he was afflicted with dropsy. He had been at the Grundy hospital a short time for treatment and appeared to be much better and he returned home on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 11th. Shortly after he returned home he suffered a heart attack and died soon thereafter.

Mr. Buskohl was born on a farm in Colfax township, Grundy county, February 18, 1883. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Buskohl, among the early residents of Grundy county. He grew up on a Colfax township farm and attended rural school there.

On February 12, 1913, he and Helen Halfwassen were married. They lived on a farm in Colfax township 7 years and then moved to Lincoln township. Ten years ago they came to Grundy Center and made their home here ever since. Mr. Buskohl was a long time member and a regular attendant of the Colfax Presbyterian church.

Surviving are the wife, two sons and two daughters. The sons are Harvey and John from Colfax township. The daughters are Mrs. Thomas Buseman and Mrs. Vernon Klosterboer, Grundy Center. There are ten grandchildren. Six brothers survive. They are Menno, Holland, Harm, Ben, Heye and William of Grundy Center, and Henry from Dike. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters and one daughter.

There was a very large attendance at the funeral service at the church.
