Christ Kruger Dies Suddenly Sunday Morning

Christ Kruger died suddenly Sunday morning from a heart attack at his home three miles northeast of Stout. He was ready to get up for the day when the attack came upon him very suddenly. A doctor was called, but Mr. Kruger was dead when the doctor arrived. He had been afflicted with heart trouble for several years.

A short funeral service was held at the home at 12:30 Wednesday afternoon and later at the Reformed church in Stout. The services were conducted by Rev. Heyenga, pastor of the church at Stout, assisted by Rev. J. E. Drake from Cedar Falls, the deceased's former pastor. Burial was in the Colfax Presbyterian church cemetery.

Mr. Kruger was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Klaas Kruger. He was born at Shannon, Ill., and came to Grundy county with his parents when he was about three years old. He grew up on the home farm in Colfax township and remained there with his folks until he married. He came from a family of eight children, two girls and six boys. Both of the girls are dead. The three surviving brothers are Henry K., Barney and Albert J., all of Grundy county. Mr. Kruger devoted all of his life to farming in Grundy county.

Relatives surviving aside from the brothers are the widow and ten children. The children are: Klaas, Harm, Marie (Mrs. Louis Pruis), Berdene (Mrs. Jerry Bolhuis), Christ Jr., Leona, Jennie (Mrs. Jake VanHauen), Gertie, Ruth and Anona.
