Mrs. Julia Engelkes

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Engelkes-Abels funeral home in Grundy Center for Mrs. Julia Engelkes, 80, of the Parkview Gardens Care Center. Burial will be in the Colfax Center cemetery.

Mrs. Engelkes, who had lived at the center the past two years, died there at 1 p.m. Wednesday of complications of her age.

Julia Jorgensen was born Oct. 3, 1890 in Story County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jorgensen. On April 21, 1919, she was married to E. H. Engelkes in Grundy Center.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Clara Boike of Iowa Falls and Mrs. Emily Brockway of Marshalltown. Raymond Riley of 818 Wisconsin St., a nephew reared by Mrs. Engelkes, also survives.
