Rites Monday for Mrs. C. H. Petersen

Funeral services were held on Monday for Mrs. Charles H. Petersen, age 81, who passed away early Friday morning at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital. Death came as the result of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Mrs. Petersen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manne Bakker, was born in Colfax township, Grundy county, May 20, 1875. She was married to Charles H. Petersen, March 29, 1900, in Colfax township. They farmed in Lincoln township for a period of 28 years, when they retired to their home in Grundy Center.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, Manna, of Holland; two daughters, Mrs. C. W. Niehaus of Grundy Center and Mrs. Ray Maddux of Reinbeck; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two children in infancy; three brothers and two sisters.

Services were held Monday at 1 p.m. at their home in Grundy Center, and at 1:30 p.m. at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Colfax Center cemetery.
