Henry A. Siefken, 86

Henry Adam Siefken, 86, of Grundy Center, passed away November 17 at the Grundy Care Center.

Memorial services were November 21 at the Holland Christian Reformed Church. Burial followed in the Holland Cemetery. Pastor Gary Nibbelink officiated. A memorial may be directed to the family.

Henry was born on March 28, 1915 in Holland, the son of Henry A. and Antje (Poppen) Siefken. He attended the Holland school. On April 26, 1940 he was united in marriage to Elma Heronimus at the Holland Christian Reformed Church. After their marriage the couple lived in Holland and Grundy Center. They moved to ElPaso, TX, for five years where Henry worked operating heavy road equipment. After their return to Grundy Center, Henry worked as the Chief of Maintenance at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital for 20 years. He retired in 1980. Henry was a charter member of the Holland Christian Reformed Church where he was an active member.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Gus, John, Adam and an infant brother; and four sisters, Annie Heronimus, Bertha Algood, Caroline Maifield and Margaret Heronimus.

Survivors include his wife, Elma of Grundy Center; a daughter, Shirley and her husband Dr. Robert Johnson of Williston, VT; two grandchildren, Tamera Johnson and her special friend George Wehrman and Jennifer and her husband James Muse; three great-grandchildren, Anna, Henry and Thomas Muse; and numerous nieces and nephews.
