Services Held For Wm Hinders

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the Holland Christian Reformed church for William Hinders, Sr., 85, of Holland who died January 16, 1978 at the Grundy County Memorial hospital from a heart attack.

Rev. Karl Wiersum officiated. Musical interludes "How Great Thou Art" and "There Is Room At The Cross For You" were played on the organ by Mrs. Raymond Appel. Mrs. Tena Franken and Mrs. Harm Itzen took care of the flowers. Ushers were Ed Schoolman and Ed Brower. A memorial fund has been established. Burial was in the Holland cemetery. Friends and relatives returned to the church following the committal service for fellowship and refreshments.

He was born June 12, 1892 at Holland, Iowa the son of Tonjes and Trentje Harberts Hinders. He married Hannah Lindaman March 31, 1917 at Holland. They farmed in the Holland area until 1955 when they moved into Holland. He was a member of the Holland Christian Reformed church, and served on the church consistory for several years.

Mr. Hinders is survived by his wife Hannah, six children, Mrs. Alvin (Leola) Hook, Mrs. Harold (Ivadean) Rademaker of Stout, William Hinders, Jr., Holland, Mrs. Wallace (Marlys) Wilts, Holland, Marvin of Reinbeck and Raymond of Holland, one sister, Mrs. Fannie Eilers of Grundy Center, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were made by the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home.
