He had been out visiting with neighbors in the forenoon but shortly after he returned home he told his wife he was not feeling very well and he lay down on the davenport. The wife was working in the kitchen when she heard him breathing heavily and he passed away very shortly thereafter. He was 60 years old. The sudden death came as a severe shock to members of his family and to his many friends.
