Hinderk Frerichs Dies At Advanced Age
End Came at His Home in Holland Tuesday Morning
H. Frerichs died at his home in Holland about 2:30 Tuesday morning. Death came as a result of old age and a stroke of paralysis ten days before. Since the first stroke there was very little hope that the patient would live through the winter. The evening before his death he felt better than he had at any time for a week before and he was able to sit up for a time.
Funeral services will be held at Holland at one o'clock Friday. Interment will be made in the family lot in Holland.
Had Mr. Frerichs lived until next May he would have been eighty-eight years old. He was a native of Germany and came to this country in 1868. Five years later he and his family moved to this county and they bought a farm in Colfax township. Mr. Frerichs lived on the farm until about twenty-five years ago when he moved to Holland.
Mr. Frerichs was the father of five children. The children were Mrs. A. Freese, Harm, Dick, John and Henry. The last two are the only ones living. Mr. Frerichs wife died at a ripe old age a year ago. Ever since that time the old gentleman hoped soon to be able to join the wife who had been his daily companion for sixty years.
